During a winter snow storm, I decided to paint this cheerful garden fairy.
She made me happy and I needed to bring some color into the otherwise gray, overcast day.
A few months later, the Center for Contemporary Mysticism, of which I am a member, was holding its annual Mystical Feast, its primary fundraising event of the year, which included an art auction.
As much as I loved my little girl plunked playfully on a mushroom swishing sparkles, I decided to donate her to the auction. I was so happy when she was purchased by the Coordinator, Joseph Irwin, and his wife for their 6 year old granddaughter’s bedroom wall!
More about The Center for Contemporary Mysticism
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
~ Teilhard de Chardin
The road to self realization and enlightenment has many paths. It is the goal of the Center to support individuals in finding their own path. The Center for Contemporary Mysticism is a member-supported community organization committed to enriching the human experience through a better understanding of the spiritual and mystical dimensions of life. Toward this goal the Center offers a wide variety of programs, classes and events ranging from mindfulness to metaphysics, and from spiritual exploration to the teachings of ancient and modern wisdom traditions. Most programs, classes and events take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill. However, some programs and retreats take place at our Kindred Spirits Retreat Center in Blue Bell, PA.
